If your PC Is NOT Receiving Data:
Possible Causes:
- The COM port is not installed or is not functioning properly.
- The SMDR connector is not physically connected to the PC.
- The phone system is not outputting SMDR data.
Possible Solutions:
- Verify the COM port is working properly.
- Win 95 - Right mouse click the "My Computer" icon, select properties, and choose the
"Device Manager" tab. View the port existence and status and make changes accordingly.
- Check the SMDR connections. Make sure the cable is free from kinks or cuts.
- The COM port may be in use by a mouse or other device, so try a different COM port.
- Check the phone system to see if it is set to output SMDR data through the SMDR data port.
